Dr. Joela Oyiwodu Ikwulono - director@sshaiinitiative.org
Dr. Joela Oyiwodu Ikwulono is a Nigerian medical doctor & founder of SSHAI (Sickle Support & Health Access Initiative). Her work focuses on strengthening healthcare access through health systems strengthening, community health programs, research, strategic partnerships, and evidence informed implementation.
She established SSHAI in March, 2026 with a vision to improve healthcare access for people living with sickle cell disease and underserved communities across Nigeria. Through her leadership, the organization delivers community health outreach, health education, advocacy, research, and collaborative initiatives that create sustainable community driven impact. Dr Joela also serves as Team Lead - 'Learn with SSHAI' Editorial Team.
