Know Your Genotype. Know Your Future: SSHAI September 2026 Campaign Opens with Health Education at Trust Academy
On 25 September 2026, the Sickle Support & Health Access Initiative (SSHAI) commenced its September 2026 Campaign with “Know Your Genotype. Know Your Future” at Trust Academy, Makurdi, Benue State.
The program focused on helping students better understand genotype, sickle cell disease, prevention, and the importance of informed health decisions.
From the preparation behind the scenes to the conversations that took place during the program, the day brought together health education, engagement, and practical learning in a space where students could ask questions and participate openly.
Most importantly, the program gave participants an opportunity to engage with information that can influence how they understand their health and future.
Watch the highlight video below for a look at the day.
“Know Your Genotype. Know Your Future” was the first program of the SSHAI September 2026 Campaign, with further activities following as part of the campaign’s broader commitment to health education, community engagement, and improved access to relevant health information.
We are grateful to the students, school community, volunteers, coordinators, partners, supporters and everyone who contributed to making the program possible.
This is only one part of the work. We look forward to continuing the conversation.
